Hello, and welcome! I’m Charity, the heart behind Joyous Arrivals Doula Service. As a birth doula, my mission is to provide compassionate, supportive, and educational care to families, especially those in middle to lower-class communities. I believe in meeting every family where they are and empowering them to make the best choices for their unique journey into parenthood.

My Journey to Becoming a Doula

​

My path to becoming a birth doula started with my own experiences as a mother. During my three pregnancies, I found myself researching everything I could about birth—hoping to understand the process and prepare myself. Despite my knowledge, I still faced moments of uncertainty. That’s when I realized how crucial it is for moms to have not only information but the right support—someone who can help guide them through their unique birth experience with confidence.

After reflecting on what kind of work would be fulfilling and allow me to connect with others, I realized that becoming a doula was the perfect fit. The combination of my love for children, my own birth experiences, and my desire to help others navigate this transformative time led me to pursue this work.

Training & Experience

​

I’ve completed my DONA-approved birth doula training and am in the process of earning my certification. But my most valuable learning comes from my personal experiences, both as a mother and as a doula. I’ve supported many families through their birth journeys, offering not only physical support but also emotional and educational guidance. With each new client, I’m reminded of the beauty and strength in every birth, and the importance of providing a safe, non-judgmental space for moms to make their own informed decisions.

My Approach to Birth

I believe that every family deserves compassionate, individualized care. I provide one-on-one support, ensuring that each family feels heard, valued, and empowered. I support all birth choices—no matter what that may look like—and believe that education is key to making informed decisions. My goal is to be there for you every step of the way, whether that’s through a natural birth, an epidural, a C-section, or anything in between. It’s your birth, and I’m here to support you in your journey, no matter what path you choose.

Personal Touch & Community Connection

After working with families, my commitment doesn’t stop when the birth is over. I offer postpartum visits before your 6-week doctor appointment to discuss your birth experience and help you process any emotions or questions. I also believe in fostering a strong, lasting connection—whether it’s a follow-up in the weeks after your birth or a question you may have months later, I’m here for you.

One of my personal goals is to send a little note on your baby’s first birthday—just a small reminder that you’re never alone on this journey. My hope is to help create a community where you can always feel supported, heard, and connected.
